Whether you're just starting out or already experienced, these tips can help you play smarter at the 188bet tables.
Don't rush into high-stakes tables before you have a solid grasp of hand rankings, table position, and basic pot odds. Start at low-limit tables on 188bet to build up your experience.
Sitting in a late position (near the button) gives you a significant edge — you get to see how other players act before making your decision. At 188bet, look for tables where you can play more hands from the button position.
Set a daily spending limit and never play with money you cannot afford to lose. Poker experts recommend a bankroll of at least 20 times the buy-in for your chosen table. Use the deposit limit tool at 188bet if needed.
Poker is a game of information. Pay attention to how often your opponents bet, fold or raise. At 188bet, player notes are available so you can record your observations throughout a session.
Consecutive losses can cloud your judgement — this is known as "tilt" in poker. If you find yourself emotionally affected, it is better to step away from the table and come back with a clearer head.
The 188bet weekly Freeroll every Friday is a prime opportunity to practise the MTT format with zero financial risk. Use these free tournaments to get comfortable with final-table pressure before stepping up to paid events.
An honest comparison to help you make the right choice.

Poker is more than just a game of luck. It's a game of skill, psychology, and patience — a combination that makes it so compelling to millions of players worldwide, including a growing number of Malaysians who are increasingly active in the online poker scene. At 188bet, we understand that Malaysian players have their own needs and preferences, which is why our poker platform has been designed with the local context in mind.
One of the most common complaints Malaysian players have about foreign poker platforms is the complexity of deposits and withdrawals. Unpredictable exchange rates, unfamiliar payment methods and lengthy processing times all create unnecessary friction. At 188bet, the entire financial ecosystem is built around Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). You deposit using Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, DuitNow or FPX via Maybank2u or CIMB Clicks — all methods that are already part of everyday life in Malaysia.
The 188bet poker lobby offers plenty of options for players at every level. Beginners can start at Texas Hold'em cash game tables with small blinds from RM0.05/RM0.10 — a low-pressure environment to build confidence. Once you're ready, move up to higher-stakes tables or join a Sit & Go for a taste of competitive tournament play. Experienced players can take on weekly and monthly MTTs with prize pools of up to RM100,000, providing a challenge that matches their skill level.
Game fairness is an absolute priority at 188bet. The poker system uses a Random Number Generator (RNG) certified by independent international testing bodies, ensuring every card deal is completely random. No manipulation or unfair advantage is given to any player. That means your results at the table depend entirely on your skill and decisions — not on any outside influence.
The 188bet platform is also fully optimised for mobile use. Many Malaysian players now prefer playing straight from their smartphones — whether during an office break, on the commute, or relaxing at home. The 188bet mobile interface runs smoothly on both iOS and Android, with touch-friendly control buttons sized for the screen and responsive card animations even on a standard 4G connection.
The 188bet VIP Programme rewards loyal poker players with added benefits. Every hand you play in a cash game and every tournament you enter earns VIP points that help you advance to the next tier — from Bronze all the way to Diamond. VIP members enjoy weekly rake rebates, higher withdrawal limits, and access to exclusive tables not available to regular members.
Good poker starts with good financial discipline. 188bet provides responsible gaming tools such as daily deposit limits, session loss limits, and a temporary account break option to help you stay in control. If the game starts feeling like a burden rather than entertainment, please visit our Responsible Gaming page or contact the 188bet support team for assistance. Remember — poker is most enjoyable when played with a clear head and a planned budget.
